How to translate a multilingual survey?

1 min read

🌍 Translate a survey into multiple languages

Do you have Employees across different countries? It is absolutely possible to offer a multilingual survey in Zest.

🛠️ Enable survey translation

When creating your survey:

  1. Go to the “Define” step
  1. Enable the “Survey language” option by selecting “Yes”
  • Select the main language of your survey
  • Then check all the additional languages in which you want an automatic translation

✍️ Create then translate your survey

Once your survey is built, a new “Translate” tab will appear in the menu (top left of the screen).

In this space, you will be able to:

  • View all your questions
  • Review the automatic translations
  • Edit and validate translations
  • Save your changes

👥 Add translators to the survey

You can also invite Employees as “Translator” Contributors.

➡️ Their role is limited to access to the “Translate” tab, with no visibility over the rest of the survey.

💡 Tip: assign one translator per location, who can review or correct the translation in their native language.

✅ Good to know

  • Automatic translations are generated from the text entered in the main language
  • You can manually edit the translated versions at any time
  • The participant will automatically see the survey version in the language defined in their Zest profile (if available)
