Difference Between a One-Time and a Recurring Review

1 min read

❓ What is the difference between a one-time review and a recurring review?

In Zest, when creating a review, you can choose between two scheduling modes:

✅ One-time Review (“one shot”)

  • The review is launched only once on a specific date.
  • The defined questions and settings apply only to this single session.
  • Useful for one-off needs: end-of-probation review, onboarding feedback, exit review, etc.

🔄 Recurring Review

  • The review is scheduled to recur at regular intervals (monthly, quarterly, yearly, etc.).
  • Each iteration follows the same configuration settings (questions, contributors, opening period).
  • Useful for regular rituals: follow-up meetings, annual reviews, recurring campaigns, etc.
  • Future iterations can be edited (questions, recipients, contributors, periods) without affecting those already in progress.

⚠️ Key points to remember

  • A one-time review is fixed once launched.
  • A recurring review ensures continuity over time with multiple automatic sessions.
  • The main benefit of recurrence is the ability to compare one iteration with another.
